I am 56 years old and have been a recreational runner since high school. I've competed in 10k races, half marathons, marathons and the classic Oregon Hood to Coast 196 mile 2 day relay event. Running has been a way for me to beat stress and stay energized. But, over the last 5 years or so I noticed it was getting harder and harder to recover from my runs and feel good. I felt continually run down.
That's where Dawn came in. I had participated in a number of group programs that Dawn leads and knew that she has the expertise to lead me in the right direction. We talked about my desire to feel strong and be healthy on an ongoing basis, day in and day out. She tested my initial performance capabilities as a benchmark to meaure my progress. When I began working with Dawn I weighted 170 lbs and was 10.5% body fat. As I got stronger I gained lean muscle mass and lost body fat. I now weigh 175 lbs and am at 8.5% body fat. That's huge for me! But that's not all. She found ways of helping me safely break through my strength limitatioins that were amazing to me. That's the value of having an experienced and knowledgable trainer. Dawn's style is genuine and enthusiastic which makes it easy to connect and work with her. Dawn started coaching me for health/general fitness and this worked well for me, but as time went on I became i
nterested in the sport of Dragon Boating. So I started training for that specific sport. Tp prepare, we worked on endurance, strength and nutrition. Two years ago, I tried out and made a team (50 yrs and over) and raced in the World Competitioin, in Germany. This past year, I continued training with Dawn and raced in the Nationa Races held in August, in Florida (we won a gold!). This upcoming year, she will be working with me to prepare for the World Competition to be held in Australia. By the way, I am 70 years old! Judy Heverly--Retired
Five years ago I realized I really needed to improve my fitness and reduce weight. I went to our corporate gym and was intimidated by the machinery which I had never used. Fortunately for me, a free trainer session was offered to entice people to use the gym and I was fortunate enough to be given Dawn Sibilia's name as the trainer who would provide that session.
I met Dawn with the request to help me improve endurance, strength and posture. Dawn did all of that and more. Dawn taught me the use of the machines and free weights for cardio and weight lifting workouts, she was also attentive to diet. I learned stretches from her that have made me more flexible than I have ever been in my life. She helped me with exercises tailored to meet some knee issues i have, with resulting, great improvement. She taught me the difference between losing weight and losing fat. "Use the scale and you fail" she said and she was right because I lost numerous inches as I exchanged fat for muscle; the weight loss followed later
She helped me bring out the inner athelete I never knew was there. Her dedication and creativity keeps my workouts interesting and challenging.....thank you Dawn. You are stuck with me for a long time. n understatement. Even though I have a lot of determination, there were times when it would have been just easier to give up. To blame my age or how busy I am or a myriad of other excuses to stop doing the things that I knew in my heart I needed to do to create and maintain a long and healthy life. You are such a big part of my success I just can't begin to THANK YOU enough. I was looking through some pictures that were taken on a vacation to Hawaii 10 years ago. I was at 180 lbs. ... I showed them to my husband and I told him, "You know, I am 10 years older and I FEEL 20 years younger." I used to be an avid walker who participated in marathons, but after a difficult pregnancy and recovery I was having a hard time getting active again. I started the WOW class 4 weeks ago, and I am feeling great! I feel challenged by the class and inspired by Dawn - and it’s fun! The best thing is, I keep noticing little changes in my body that I know are going to roll up into big changes. This is the most positive I have felt about exercise in about 20 years!

We have done our "sessions", "check-ins" and support via email and phone calls. Before giving me a program, I communicated to her what my current workout routine was, the intensity at which I did it and what my lifestyle, diet, sleep patterns etc.. were. If Dawn had additional questions of not understanding something, she asked me lots of questions. Once she knew all of this, she sent me a weekly fitness schedule and we constantly discussed diet, ideas, bodies and metabolism. There were and are days that as a "student", I tried to avoid being accountable to Dawn for things I would not do, and she is patient and understanding when those phases happen. But she does not let you get away from health for too long. She has an amazing ability to listen and support without giving you permission to stop. I can't say enough about the wonderful way in which I am able to work with Dawn, even though we don't see each other physically. I have accomplished so much in the last 7 months.
